Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Advisor HSE Ops in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, Rockies HSE Business Unit based in Platteville, Colorado.

Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Oversee final reclamation for all E&P locations, (approximately 1500)

  • Oversee the stormwater program

  • Assist Drilling/Construction teams with interim reclamation programs, procedures and COGCC compliance

  • Prepare COGCC reclamation variances and Form 4 closure, oversee and review vegetative surveys

  • Conduct field reviews, mentor field contractors for reclamation procedures and safe work practices, and assign projects to approximately 10-15 crews

  • Support contract employees with reclamation program duties

  • Attend and direct landowner meetings on reclamation with surface land team

  • Represent Oxy with the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) reclamation staff

  • Address and respond to COGCC inspection corrective actions

  • Represent Oxy with municipalities

  • Conduct field reviews of locations to ensure compliance with reclamation programs and plans

  • HSE on-call support (requires safety investigation knowledge)

  • General environmental permitting and compliance support to environmental team

  • Reclamation progress tracking with internal system


Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Competencies:


  • Understanding of safety associated with reclamation activities

  • Minimum Four (4) years of environmental experience (reclamation preferred)

  • Experience with Colorado oil and gas environmental activities; approved seed mixes and vegetative surveys

  • Experience with overseeing contractor reclamation crews

  • Strong understanding and experience with reclamation and stormwater compliance requirements for Colorado (COGCC and DJ municipal rules)

  • Experience with COGCC reclamation variances and Form 4 site closure expectations

  • Experience engaging with challenging stakeholders, specifically landowners

  • Experience engaging with regulators

  • Experience with E&P spill response (preferred)

  • Knowledge of Colorado and Federal regulatory permitting and compliance reporting requirements

  • Understanding of environmental issues as they apply to E&P and Well Construction Operations

  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge and application of HSE principles

  • Demonstrates sound working knowledge of oil field operations

  • Strong communication skills. Must communicate effectively with operations/technical staff, management, various internal groups, and regulatory agency personnel

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering field

Licenses:

Valid driver's license with no restriction that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.

Travel Requirements:

Amount of travel could be 10- 20% once travel restrictions are lifted.

Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation.
