Agilent's Biomolecular Analysis Division is searching for a global product manager to join the exciting Genomics Systems, marketing team. We define, develop, market and manufacture groundbreaking instrumentation for genomics analysis, such as QPCR, microarray scanner and NGS sample prep systems.


We service a worldwide customer base around the globe in various Life Science markets. Our team is looking for a product manager with Genomics or similar background with in-depth knowledge of related workflow and instrumentation. In this position, you will be contributing to the product management and maintenance of Agilent's genomics systems. The role is based in La Jolla, California.


Responsibilities:



  • Perform worldwide market research to identify customer needs and problems in targeted Life Science markets. Translate findings into requirements for new products or product improvements.

  • Collaborate with customers and key opinion leaders to generate proof of concept data and penetrate key application areas.

  • Drive market and competitive analysis to define trends and evaluate new market opportunities.

  • Manage product portfolio and product life cycle. Define product positioning, messaging, pricing strategy.

  • Develop and deliver product portfolio trainings to the Agilent sales organization.

  • Present at scientific conferences and customer-facing seminars.

  • Work with global program managers to develop programs and customer-focused collateral and marketing campaign elements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Agilent, including sales, engineering, application development, support, and manufacturing to generate alignment between organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors with Masters or higher degree in genomics, biotechnology or a related discipline

  • High energy and self-motivated, with strong desire to make an impact

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with hands-on familiarity of genomics techniques and qPCR workflows

  • Experience in product management/product marketing (with instrumentation is strongly desired)

  • Proven use of marketing skills and knowledge to define and commercialize products that result in business success

  • Great teammate in a diverse scientific/engineering/business environment

  • Works well in a culturally diverse environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility in working hours

  • Willingness to travel (25%)
