The Senior Sales and Operations Planning Analyst works with business partners to understand unconstrained demand and identify possible supply challenges and constraints. In addition, this role takes part in the implementation of new supply planning software, understanding the capabilities, testing, and executing best case scenario analysis. This role is a key contributor in consolidating and reporting findings to management in preparation of each step of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and outputs including configuration of stakeholder dashboards and executive reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Owns Quidel's weekly and monthly data-gathering for the S&OP process
Performs continuous development and maintenance of metrics and key performance indicators (KPI)
Supports implementation of demand planning and S&OP automation solutions
Locates, validates, and presents data to best utilize manufacturing outputs
Responsible for continual development and maintenance of metrics and KPI's
Develops tools that generate scenarios to support decisions as they relate to suppliers, new product introductions, and changes in processes
Analyzes variability in the supply chain and assist in establishment of appropriate inventory buffers for finished good materials relative to customer service, inventory investment, and
Owns the design, development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards, etc. to drive key sales and operations planning decisions and process improvements
Works with across multiple functions to define requirements and high-level process/system solutions.
Drives standardization of tools and processes to build scalable execution plans with operations team.
Consolidates and analyzes demand and supply data for operational and strategic plans, and uses the data to drive on-time delivery, establish lead times, and inventory turns.
Provides data-driven input to help align demand and supply management teams
Completes additional ad-hoc analyses, as needed
Performs other tasks and projects as needed
INTERACTIONS: Works closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales & Marketing, Technical Support, Finance Department, and Planning regarding Demand inputs and outputs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment, moderate to heavy phones, long periods of sitting, and flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 25% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 75% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Occasional travel may be required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum six (6) years of related S&OP experience consolidating, aggregating, and compiling demand and supply data for analysis and planning.
Skills and Knowledge
Experience using a S&OP Software Platform is desired, experience with KINAXIS and Infor LN preferred.
Strong understanding of planning system functionality, planning parameters, data integrity, net requirement inputs, and integration into S&OP and supply chain processes is preferred Demonstrated and strong understanding of forecasting, planning, inventory management, manufacturing, and supply chain related processes in a global environment. Experience in highly regulated medical diagnostics industry is highly desired

Excellent communication and intpersonal skills
Demonstrated command of statistical modeling and analysis required including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with script-level programming in a language such as Python. Statistical analysis experience may include use of Excel's Advanced Analysis ToolPak, R, Python, SSPS, SAS, STATA, MATLAB, MINITAB, Tableau, QlikSense, Microsoft Power BI, Microstrategy, Kinaxis, or similar data analysis toolsStrong critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business language
