Area Nurse Manager

Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for an Area Nurse Managerto support Federal Occupational Health (FOH) clinics. This position is based out of Washington, DC. Travel is required.

Position Responsibilities:Ind.Nurse

First line supervisor to all clinical staff at the above locations for Federal Occupational Health
• Provide direct supervision for Nurse Coordinators and Registered Nurses at the assigned clinics


• Primarily responsible for ensuring that nurses comply with assigned duties for specific locations, TJC (The Joint Commission) standards, and FOH policies


• Assists with opening, moving, and closing of clinics within the assigned area


• Responsible for orientation of newly hired staff


• Performs required competency assessments on all nursing staff


• Develops innovative and effective operational and/or program strategies or procedures for area clinics to accomplish the objectives of CHS


• Performs regular on-site clinic inspections


• Responsible for ensuring that all clinic operations comply with TJC standards and that FOH and SHR maintains TJC accreditation


• Assist with implementation of new policies, SOPs, and LOPs


• Interacts with the agency POCs, FOH leadership, and staffing vendors to addressall needs/requests/concerns

Position Requirements:

• Must have BSN and a minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical leadership, or an Associate's Degree with 3 years of clinical leadership experience.


• Graduate from a National League of Nursing accredited school of nursing (diploma, AND, or BSN)


• One year of experience in occupational health or related experience such as public health/community health, outpatient clinic, school nursing or physician office nursing experience


• Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) Certificationfor Audiometry


• National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved Spirometry Course


• Current CPR/AED for Health Care Professionals certification
