Analyze raw, in-process samples and finished products for specific attributes to ensure the quality specification as well as regulatory and customer requirements are being met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In-process and finished product inspections and analytical test using lab instrumentation.
Execute safe and good laboratory analytical practices as well as good housekeeping practices.
Interface with SAP to enter analytical and physical test results.
Maintain required documentation that is legible, readily understood, complete and accurate to ensure compliance with procedures and specifications.
Follow document procedures including SOP's and test methods.
Prepare samples for microbiological test for 3rd party lab testing.
Perform food safety checks and CCP monitoring activities as specified by HACCP.
Responsible for other duties as deemed necessary by Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of general lab operation, GLP's GMP's, Food Safety and Lab Safety
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point Skills.
-Knowledge of test methods and analytical test procedures (i.e. NIR)
Effective Written and Verbal Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such SOP's and safety documents
Detail oriented and able to multi-task
Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
1 to 2 years' experience working in wet chemistry lab environment
Working knowledge of ICP, NIR, CEM & LECO systems and methodologies
Ability to effectively work on a team, both as a leader and a member.
Ability to troubleshoot complex lab instrumentation
Ability to use multiple computer programs and systems to collect and analyze data
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1 to 2 years' experience working in a wet lab environment.
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates or BA in Chemistry, Science, Agriculture or related field is preferred
