Job Description:

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Product Line Buyer to support our team in Wooster, OH. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies that are in support of Regional, Global, and Product Line strategic purchasing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develop commodity strategies pursuant to identifying productivity initiatives and supplier rationalization opportunities for assigned commodities
• Process owner for communicating product demand to supplier, ensuring availability to factory requirements
• Key participant in ensuring that preferred suppliers are involved with New Product Development
• Provide leadership and direction to Plant Buyers sharing of commodity and expertise
• Assist the Director in strategic planning and project management

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in purchasing; prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred,
• Experience with Electronics preferred


• Project Management experience preferred
• Excellent systems aptitude (SAP experience a plus); Microsoft Office experience
• The ability and desire to work both independently and on teams
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams
• A professional attitude exercising confidentiality as needed, demonstrated ability to work with appropriate sense of urgency and multi-task, and a competitive drive for results
