The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position of Supply Chain Analyst will improve business results by providing analysis and data interpretation to assist in the improvement of supply chain processes with a primary focus in transportation. Promotes supply chain thinking and optimization for existing and new supply chain processes which may include US and transnational processes. Assists in identification of IT requirements necessary to support supply chain systems. Provides analytical and application support for Supply Chain areas in order to deliver results in terms of service, speed and cost. Employs subject matter expertise of transportation, businesses and customer requirements in completing assignments. Leads implementation projects and provides direction to focused teams.

• Provide transportation analysis for internal/external and business leadership


• Tactical and strategic demand as it relates to transportation analysis for the DeKalb Campus. Ensure resources are aligned based on customer work content necessary to meet service expectations at the lowest cost


• Handle inquiries of moderate scope and complexity. Use intermediate to advanced analytical skills to interpret information, examine variables, draw conclusions, and clearly present findings/recommendations


• Build queries/tools/reports to drive operational efficiency


• Leverage campus data to prioritize and execute the most impactful opportunities


• Responsible for reconciling service results and improvement activities related to transportation


• Lead and participate on LSS projects to reduce cost and/or improve service


• Month-end/quarter-end execution and shipping analysis as it relates to transportation


• Participate in activities focused in improving forecast accuracy and communication with the business

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Experience in supply chain, operations, and/or logistics in a private, public, government or military environment (internship/coop experience applies)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or Business degree


• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Logistics experience (internship/coop experience applies)


• Experience leading Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or other projects


• Good understanding of JDA and 3M corporate systems


• Proven advanced data skills using Microsoft Access and Excel


• Effective communication & presentation skills


• Strong desire to advance in the Supply Chain field

Travel: May include up to 5%
