Job Description:

Role Summary


The Commercial Portfolio Manager is a key member of the client coverage team and is responsible for working with the Relationship Manager to screen new deals, develop solutions, underwrite credit packages, and manage existing relationships with support commensurate with experience.


Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions



  • Underwrites, structures, and completes credit packages for C&I, CRE and/or Builder new money and renewal requests.

  • Manages a portfolio of existing client relationships.

  • Completes annual reviews, reviews monthly borrowing bases, calculates covenants, monitors changes in the borrower’s industry and operating performance, and identifies changes in the borrower’s credit risk profile.

  • Ensures all credit risk metrics within the assigned portfolio are managed within acceptable risk tolerance.

  • Serves as a resource and mentor for Commercial Relationship Managers and Analysts.

Your Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • 8+ years of progressive Commercial Credit experience required.

  • Successful completion of a formalized credit training program preferred.

  • Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, accounting, and credit structuring.

  • Proven underwriting and decision-making experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of effective problem-solving.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects / processes.

  • Positive, growth-mindset.

  • Willingness to learn and develop and to be an active contributor to the team.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
