The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Clinician Support Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. The person hired for the position of Clinical Support Technician will primarily be responsible for providing customers with technical support and basic clinical assessments for orthodontic treatment, elevating the case treatment planning to key advocates where necessary to ensure complete clinical support and satisfaction.  This position will work directly with oral care professionals, including orthodontists, dentists, and their office staff, 3M sales and technical staff to support the growth of 3M’s custom orthodontic business – one of 3M’s dynamic Priority Growth Platforms (PGPs).  The technicians’ primary goal is to ensure customer needs are met in a timely fashion with superior communications across the multi-functional manufacturing, supply chain and business teams.  Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Acting as a central point of contact for our customers to support varying levels of inquiries from clinical assessments to software support

  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism with customers and working to establish a positive rapport with every caller

  • Managing exception orders working both with the oral care professionals and the internal Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Technical teams

  • Ensuring compliance with established procedures and following all division and corporate procedures regarding safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory

  • Handling non-routine and multi-faceted customer inquiries, complaints, and VOC inputs 

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years of clinical dental or orthodontic industry experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Dental Technician, Dental Hygienist, or Orthodontics Assistant Certification

  • Computer literacy and confidence in using multiple applications

  • Confident phone manner with clear verbal communication skills

  • Orthodontics Teaching or Educational Experience

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
