Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a Financial Manager for our Maitland, FL office. The purpose of the Financial Manager (FM) is to assist Project Managers (PM) on all financial aspects of assigned projects, from bid & proposal stage to project close out. This position is responsible for accurate project setup and maintenance within Oracle applications, monitoring project profitability, complying with accounting policies and procedures, collaborating with central billing, assisting with collection efforts, and understanding/monitoring vendor costs at the project/task order level. The FM liaises with the Practice Lead, the PM and Controller on profit strategies and communicates project related risks and opportunities to all parties. The FM assists with project estimated costs to complete analyses that impact accurate revenue recognition under the cost to cost method.

The Financial Manager provides hands on support to the PM and the Financial/Accounting Department through establishing and updating funding agreements, preparing and reviewing Project Evaluation Estimates at Completion (PEEACs) with the PM and Operating Manager, monitoring Periods of Performance, and assisting with obtaining approval for all Work-At-Risk requests. This position requires the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. The nature of the work performed will often have "last minute" requirements. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively. Will be expected to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during disaster response activations.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Support Project Managers in contract management/compliance, invoice management, document control, client meetings/coordination, and interaction with the Finance and Accounting team

  • Implement and execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor, and communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs, labor hours, and quantities for projects


  • Lead the development and maintenance of periodic status reports to keep management and/or client informed of project progress. Review and update of Tetra Linx reports i.e., CSR etc.


  • Project setup, maintenance, and updates to project budgets


  • Aids the Accounting Manager in the submittal of monthly subcontractor accruals and in developing quarterly financial updates


  • Assist PMs to resolve payment or labor charging discrepancies identified on review of Project Status Reports


  • Aid in the detection of project anomalies or fluctuations that may results in positive/negative revenue adjustments. Early identification of project financial swings or problems, i.e. write-off; write-downs; write ups


  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by management


  • Facilitate Work At Risk requests in collaboration with the PM


  • Project Evaluation Estimated Cost at Completion preparation, review, and submission


  • Interact with PMs to ensure they understand the financial status of their projects; i.e., unbilled, unearned, budgets, revenue, cost, open AR, etc.


  • Review of contract terms and conditions as it relates to billing and payments


  • Other assigned tasks as needed

    The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment. Will be able to prioritize work and be a self-starter.



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required; however, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable


  • 3-5 years as a project manager, project control analyst or financial analyst in project centric business


  • Oracle ERP systems experience preferred


  • Strong spreadsheet skills using excel to organize and manipulate data to enhance decisions


  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.)


  • Data Entry, Data Reconciliation, Cost Calculations


  • Extraordinary attention to detail


  • Ability to work closely with others to meet deadlines


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
