Provide staff support to assigned third party operated distribution centers, and operational direction for daily order fulfillment activities to ensure customer service, distribution cost, and performance objectives are consistently accomplished. Identify and implement new programs and processes to improve operational performance and reduce ongoing costs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Coordinate 3PL distribution center operations to ensure cost effective service and on-time performance. 


  • Analyze customer demand, promotion and deployment forecasts to ensure distribution center capacity requirements are executed to support the marketplace.


  • Ensure sustainable distribution center performance through in-depth technical knowledge, analyses, and review of systems and daily reports. Recognize and address impact of actions within supply chain to identify and resolve inefficiencies. Demonstrate ability to transfer technical and systems knowledge.


  • Follow the process established for successful customer and transfer order fulfillment and execution, while demonstrating understanding of tools and systems, and sufficient knowledge.  Identify potential improvement opportunities, and collaborate with Process teams and Vendors to research and implement changes.


  • Analyze cost trends to improve distribution center cost effectiveness and coordinate the review, accrual and reconciliation of distribution operating expenses.


  • Identify and communicate discrepancies in promotional forecasts with Customer Service and other internal supply chain functions. Carefully manage promotional orders to minimize distribution costs.

  • Ability to precisely and proficiently conduct strategic business and data analyses and data driven recommendations for improvements and advancements.


  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Excel, SAP, WMS, Tableau and other systems.


  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to Distribution Manager.

SCOPE OF POSITION:


  • Coordinate distribution center operations at 3PL operated sites.  Ensure consistent fulfillment and execution of sales and stock transfer orders.


  • Key customers include 3PL Vendors, Customer Order Associate, Customer Strategy Analyst, Business Planning, Deployment, Distribution Analysis, Distribution Operations, Transportation teams, Planning teams, Logistical Alliances, team members, and team leaders.


  • Challenges of the position include managing dynamic space and throughput capacity requirements, planning for and supporting projects/exceptions (i.e. product launches, stock rollovers, promotions, obsolete stock), and audit/approval of monthly DC invoices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:


  • 1-3 years of logistics or other supply chain experience.


  • Proficient in data access tools and PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), along with Business Warehouse, SAP and BI.


  • Results and strategy oriented, strong oral and written communication, analytical, attention to detail, trouble shooting, change management, project and risk management and building relationships.


Other Skills:

  • Prioritization and time management, resources and team management, active listening, adaptability and interpersonal.
