Brandywine Realty Trust is seeking Corporate Accountant to join their Accounting team in Philadelphia, PA.

The core duties of the Corporate Accountant are to assist in the month end close process, treasury, financial statement reporting and disclosure preparation, and general accounting functions. The Corporate Accountant is expected to provide insight to the CFO, CAO, and Corporate Controller on continuous improvement opportunities. The Corporate Accountant is also responsible for performing SOX control activities by assisting in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, monthly/quarterly fluctuation analysis, etc. This role will also be responsible for fielding questions from staff accountants, investigation into general ledger inquiries, preparation of analytics and assisting with financial statement audit requests.

Responsibilities include:


  • Assist in the month-end close process including but not limited to preparation and review of monthly/quarterly entries & work papers including: 


    • Equity Method Investments

    • Corporate Debt

    • Corporate G&A

    • Corporate accruals/prepaid assets

    • Cash flow hedges/swaps

    • Distributions payable

    • Bank reconciliations

    • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual budget forecasts for corporate G&A, debt, interest income, and certain joint venture activity

    • Assist in preparation of debt and joint venture footnotes in the 10-Q and 10-K, including fair value of debt calculations

    • Assist in preparation of debt and joint venture pages of the Company’s quarterly investor supplemental package

    • Manage daily liquidity needs and assist the Corporate Controller with forecasting monthly cash projections

    • Assist with the Company’s Line of Credit requests, paydowns & interest payments

    • Coordinating bank wire & account transfer requests as needed

    • Provide assistance in establishing and managing all of our bank accounts, lockboxes, and money market investments with various financial institutions

    • Responsible for various monthly journal entries

    • Assist with lender reporting to creditors

    • Work in conjunction with our in-house parking management team to record parking cash receipts

    • Perform special projects as needed, as requested by the CFO, CAO and Corporate Controller

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university required. 

  • Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience desired.

  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Word is required.

  • MRI or other commercial property management accounting software experience preferred.
