BOOKKEEPER

Center Line, Michigan

 

Kramer Homes Co-Operative, one of the largest housing co-operatives in Michigan, is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper that would enjoy engaging with its members. Kramer is a unique non-profit organization with a rich history in the Center Line community. Kramer Homes is owned by its 500 members and operated for the members’ benefit.

The full-time Bookkeeper focuses primarily on accounting and bookkeeping functions and also works directly with the membership as a key part of the office team. If you enjoy accounting and engaging with diverse individuals in a family-oriented setting this is a great opportunity!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Processes and maintains all accounting records to include but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, rent receipts, deposits, payroll, benefits accruals, etc.

  • Reconciles all accounts monthly and provides reporting. Updates financial statements.

  • Assists in daily office management by providing members and potential members support, processing applications, placing work orders, etc.

  • Prepares and manage member loan documents and payments.

  • Maintains accounting system and interfaces to accounting related services. Acts as liaison to external service providers as needed.

  • Prepares closing documents including, but not limited to depreciation schedules, homestead forms, vacate notices, utility requirements, disbursement checks, etc.

  • Communicates with members and applicants regarding available units.

  • Tracks capital inventory installation, replacement, removal, and depreciation.

  • Coordinates and supports monthly and annual audit.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or comparable diploma with an associate degree or higher in accounting or business preferred.

  • 3 or more years of experience in bookkeeping work required. 5 or more years preferred.

  • Advanced level software skills including Outlook, Word, Excel.

  • Knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
