Chief of Staff for Head of Corporate Responsibility Communications, JPMorgan Chase

This role supports the Head of Corporate Responsibility (CR) Communications at JPMorgan Chase by driving key initiatives, business objectives and operational management across CR Communications. In this role, you will act as trusted advisor and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. You will help expand the capacity of the Head of CR Communications through project management, coordination across teams, and on-time delivery of key priorities. The ideal candidate is an energetic strategic advisor and project manager who will help articulate CR Communication's vision and continued value to the Firm. A key factor of success for this role is coordinating priority projects and objectives that include communications aspects within the CR Department, working with Government Relations, Global Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Sustainable Finance, Research & Policy and others, as well as Line of Business Communication groups.

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Support the Head of CR Communications in managing the organization across the Communications team by staying one step ahead to help manage priorities effectively, coordinate activities, and track critical deliverables
  • Help manage the Head of CR Communications' time and priorities effectively and bring together a cohesive story of the work we do and the value to the Firm
  • Identify communications responsibilities and shared priorities with Government Relations, Global Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Sustainable Finance, Research & Policy and other CR Department teams and Line of Business partners to streamline work
  • Work closely with other Chiefs of Staff and Business Manager counterparts within the CR Department and other Line of Business Communication functions to coordinate key initiatives, projects and deadlines
  • Drive innovation, new ideas and better ways to work across CR Communications
  • Implement new business strategy, strategic initiatives or platforms, including aligning department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance)
  • Develop and support senior level strategic presentations and project management, including decks, briefs, talking points
  • Serve as a connection point across CR Communications and the CR Department where needed
  • Help develop annual CR Communication priorities, track progress against them, including mid-year and end-of-year reports recapping the team's work
  • Guide members of the CR Communications team on best practices and end-to-end solutions and continually look for process improvements
  • Work with financial partners and leadership team to track overall budgets including forecasting, planning, headcount, accruals and reconciliations
  • Extract data from multiple sources and deliver in a unified format
  • Partner with relevant external service/infrastructure providers
  • Represent the Head of CR Communications and team in respective internal/external working groups
  • Crisis management issues as needed (reputation risk, Government Relations)
  • Flexibility with new projects that come up

Qualifications

  • Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions
  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to both define and deliver to conclusion a strategic agenda across multiple groups
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with logical thought process

Ideally, we are looking for candidates with the following qualities:

  • 8-10 years of work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
  • Previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management experience
  • Expert communicator who can collaborate closely with the CR Communications team, internal stakeholders, and senior leaders
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Extremely organized project manager who is energetic and dynamic in style
  • Superior judgement and experience managing highly confidential information
  • Previous knowledge in budget management, planning and forecasting
  • Deep knowledge of JPMC's business model, organization structure and performance metrics and ability to get things done
  • Presents well to senior and global business heads
  • Resourceful - intuitive in finding information and the right connection points
