Schaeffler , a global automotive and industrial supplier is seeking a Engineer - Materials Engineering to support our North American location in Wooster, OH . The position is responsible to explore, develop, assess, and pre-qualify membrane electrode assembly components of hydrogen fuel cells.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design, develop, and execute experiment for evaluating gas diffusion and catalyst coated membrane layers
• Screen, test, and analyses performance and quality metrics of sample materials
• Design experiments for evaluating performance of new materials being tested for hydrogen fuel cell performance
• Develop advanced characterization techniques and maintain equipment for both testing materials properties as well as fuel cell performance

• Advanced materials science & engineering knowledge
• Understanding of the chemistry & physics of hydrogen fuel cells
• Experience with gas diffusion layers and catalyst coated membranes and electrolysis
• Hands on experience with characterization techniques such as microscopy and spectroscopy
• Minimum two years of experience of chemistry/physics laboratory
• Experience with fuel cell tester and electrolyze
• Advanced presentation skills
• Excellent communication ability (written & verbal)

• Bachelor of Science degree in a material science engineering related field
