Title: Scrum Master, Edge, Construction & Forestry- 72291

This position may be located in Davenport, IA or Dubuque, IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

As a Scrum Master within Edge Operations, you will serve as the "servant leader" of a scrum team by removing impediments and helping the team remain successful and on schedule. This person will drive tactical team-level improvement as part of the scrum process. In addition you will:


  • Understand business strategy, objectives and technology to ensure development work is prioritized by business value, work is aligned with objectives and help the team overcome development roadblocks.
  • Ability to support the technologies and lead incident resolution
  • Work independently receiving oversight during critical decision points or issues.
  • Selects tools, frameworks, and methodologies for team-level activities, within established guidelines.
  • Facilitates efforts of large and complex features that may involve integrating the work of 1-2 teams;
  • Understands products, services and business processes, and help determine the role the team can play to support their success.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for teaching and enforcing the values and principles of Agile, while promoting self-organization and constantly improving our standards of work.
  • Identifies, tracks, removes, or escalates impediments to enable team success toward the sprint commitments.
  • Tracks metrics (inputs, outputs, and outcomes) for team; monitors on an ongoing basis and informs key stakeholders as appropriate. Monitors sprint velocity and works with team to determine how they can continue to improve on velocity and recognize additional efficiencies as they mature.
  • Facilitates process to decide which stories will be included in each sprint through understanding team's velocity and story scope and size. Helps team members prioritize order of user stories they will execute against the product commitments.
  • Assists with resource allocation and effective capacity planning for team to determine what team can take on in any given sprint. Works with product owner, engineering manager, and team to re-balance and re- prioritize work within a sprint.
  • Ensures planning of go-live and deployment activities and facilitates their execution.
  • Facilitates and/or supports Agile framework ceremonies for Scrum teams.

  • Proven ability to coach and develop others
  • Proven ability to identify and remove roadblocks (technical & business) for teams
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
  • Proven ability & technical knowledge to coordinate & deliver technical solutions
  • Proven communication, conflict resolution, facilitation, & facilitation skills

Additional Desired Skills / Experiences:


  • Recognized Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master
  • Knowledge of Edge technologies
  • Ability to plan and execute deployment activities

  • Growth mindset - willingness to deal and thrive in uncertainty
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in a related career field
