If your focused on building a strong safety culture at the site level and to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, this is for you.  The Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Manager oversees the development, management, and implementation of the facility EHS program.  This role is responsible for Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, Legal Regulations, Property Security, and Cleaning Services.  This role is responsible for Knife Gate Valve manufacturing facility under Emerson Automation Solutions located in Reno, NV.  
 
AS A SAFETY MANAGER, YOU WILL: 


  • You will promote and foster a safety culture within the facility, engaging all employees in the Core Value of Safety.

  • You will maintain regulatory compliance for OSHA required regulations, EPA, City of Reno, Washoe County, as well as Emerson Corporate Standards.

  • You will develop, coordinate and facilitate ES&H communication training for OSHA general safety, environmental awareness and Emerson programs.

  • You will recognize, evaluate and mitigate workplace hazards including development and implementation of processes, Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), work procedures, programs and training.

  • You will implement Emerson Operation Excellence Safety Audits, ENHESA audits, Environmental Compliance Audits, and self-assessments and maintain/improve current ratings.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene/Safety, Environmental Mgmt./Engineering, Safety engineering or related field.

  • 2 - 4 years related experience in health and safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety elements including OSHA federal and state standards is required.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to identity safety and health risks associated with manufacturing operations is required.

  • Project Management experience required.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • ASP or CSP certification is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene testing and standards

  • Strong analytical skills, including, root cause analysis such as, Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Analysis, Change Analysis, 5 Y’s, etc.

  • Solid computer skills, including, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Outlook. 

  • Strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills required with ability to work as a team member.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
