The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a UX Senior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leading the implementation of the Design System, including strategy and management of related processes. 

  • Partnering with Agile Team Product Owners to understanding product vision and translate that into UX Processes and deliverables (Flows, wireframes, designs, prototypes, etc.) for non-UX team members and stakeholders. 

  • Working in both rapid production environments and delivering larger, more complex UX Design efforts by being embedded in cross functional teams while maintaining alignment with broader UX organization through participation in UX Peer reviews and knowledge sharing

  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer experience through analytics, customer support feedback, competitive analysis, and user research. 

  • Partnering with research team members to plan, prototype and test experiences with customers. 

  • Respectfully challenging assumptions and engaging others in constructive dialogue to define solutions. 

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) combined  years of experience as Information Architect, User Experience Designer, Visual Designer, or Interaction Designer in a private, public, government or military environment

  • One (1) year experience leading or assisting the implementation of an enterprise Design System

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Familiarity with Dual Track Agile or Lean UX 

  • More than two (2) years in Art Director or Senior Designer role. 

  • More than three (3) years' experience with wireframing tools such as Sketch, Figma, Axure, Balsamiq or similar. 

  • More than two (2) years' experience with Design and Prototyping tools such as InVision, Photoshop, InDesign, or similar tool. 

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative user research practices 

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
