The Operations Manager contributes to the execution of theMetabolomicsPlatform's agenda by monitoring and reporting on key metrics, managing the Platform's contractual commitments and deliverables, contributing to facilities and talent management, leading operational improvement projects, and coordinating across operational functions Platform wide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

*Support the Platform Director in seeking and making decisions on new funding opportunities (contracts, grants, projects, etc.) by assembling project cost estimates and budgets, assisting in grant proposal writing, and providing input into decisions.

*Primary resource for the management of the Platform's existing contracts and grants, from an execution perspective: track SOWs and milestones, ensure Platform is on track to meet deliverables, etc.

*Contribute as needed to the management of Platform budgeting activities, expense monitoring, and associated coordination with the Broad central finance organization.

*Monitor and report on key metrics and ensure follow-up on quality/performance issues. Help establish data collection andcommunication/reportingworkflows for new metrics as needed.

*Contribute to facilities planning and management as needed by working closely with both the platform team and the central facilities team. Ensure communication and resolution of facilities related issues, as well as dissemination of best practice ideas and information.

*Hiring coordination across team, including tracking of reqs, drafting job descriptions, tracking of budgets and effort allocations, etc.

*Contribute to Platform wide talent and capability development through the identification of gaps anddesign/administrationof training materials and courses.

*Provide input into organizational structure by monitoring team performance relative to Platform goals.

*Lead operational improvement projects, as needed.

*Perform a variety of other operational tasks, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

*Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required.

*At least 4 years of relevant experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, academic research, or other related industry required.

*Must have strong project management skills to support driving initiatives.

*Must have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills.

*Requires the acumen to handle difficult situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands of the group.

*Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.

*Ability to drive consensus across diverse stakeholders to achieve goals.

*Anticipates and proactively addresses issues.

*Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Ability to manage direct reports as needed
