The Production Planner plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacture of industrial, commercial, and residential products. The planner coordinates the activities of all departments responsible for delivering products to customers on schedule. 

Responsibilities:

• Drawing up a master schedule to establish the sequences and lead-times of each operation to meet shipping dates according to required forecast or customer order.


• Planning and scheduling workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead-times.


• Analyzing production specifications and plant capacity data while performing calculations to determine manufacturing processes and human resource requirements.


• Conferring with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned jobs.


• Expediting operations that delay schedules and altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.


• Reviewing product mix and demand spikes to ensure that sufficient inventory is available to meet production goals and customer requirements.


• Working in conjunction with the finance department to assure system cost accuracy and understanding of product material and labor costing.


• Working with inventory personnel to help maintain accurate, perpetual inventories.


• Advising management of the status of work-in-progress, material availability, and production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided to meet customer demand.


• Updating and keeping current MRP operating data.


• Preparing production reports.

Requirements:

• BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university is highly preferred.


• 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing/industrial facility using Epicor or a similar MRP system is required.


• Previous planning or scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment, including a strong understanding of production inventory techniques and principles, is highly preferred.


• CPIM or other related certification is a plus.


• Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Microsoft Access proficiency is a plus.


• Excellent communication skills are required.


• Work cooperatively with others without regard to level or status to achieve results


• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieve results with little oversight


• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment


• Manage own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals


• Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Office Suite
