Job Description:

The Early Childhood Specialist (Specialist) will work closely with the LAUNCH Manchester Manager in support of LAUNCH Manchester goals. The Early Childhood Specialist will work with the LAUNCH Manchester Manager, Amoskeag Health staff, the LAUNCH Manchester Family Advisory Committee, and family serving agencies to assist in building the early childhood system in Manchester. The Specialist shall be a bachelor's level provider with at least five years' experience working in direct service in early childhood, social work, or other related discipline within a program or school serving families with young children.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

Responsible and accountable to the LAUNCH Manchester Manager.
Other relationships: Works with the Amoskeag Health Director of Strategic Initiatives, Amoskeag Health staff, local early childhood education providers, and other local agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
· Responsibilities may vary dependent upon updates to strategic plan and additional changes to existing workload and department structure.
· Coordination of the Family Advisory Committee (FAC) in Manchester that brings together parents and kincaregivers of young children.
· Provide administrative support to the LAUNCH Manchester Manager, and Director of Strategic Initiatives for Children.
· Coordinate training and professional development opportunities with the LAUNCH Manchester Manager.
· Support ongoing efforts to engage families in the community, including distribution and promotion of parent education and support programs, creation and promotion of family friendly events, and coordination of activities across LAUNCH partners when applicable.
· Support the management of social media accounts.
· Assess the gaps of supports available to families and make recommendations to the department and community partners to fulfill those gaps.
· Ensure intentional connections between the FAC and LAUNCH Manchester related to available supports and services for all children birth-8 years are available.
· Ensure family voice and choice is elevated among the department, within the health center and broadly across the partner network.
· Understand and improve upon the dissemination of print and electronic materials to families.
· Summarize pertinent data to other team members in support of the goals of LAUNCH Manchester.
· Maintain accurate and orderly data.
· Organized and efficient with ability to improve upon existing systems.
· Establish positive, supportive relationships with FAC participants and community stakeholders.
· Other duties as assigned by the LAUNCH Manchester Manager and/or Director of Strategic Initiatives for Children.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, punch, pull, or otherwise move objects. Primary functions involve sitting, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; walking, particularly for long distances, and standing for sustained periods of time.
Visual acuity sufficient for work which deals largely with visual inspection involving small anatomical or physiological details as well as the whole patient, preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer terminal operation, extensive reading, and visual inspection involving small parts/defects.
Effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and social skills.
Experience with Microsoft office products or willingness to learn.
Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to support minor tasks related to their upkeep.
Must possess the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or excessive stress.
Ability to wear equipment such as safety glasses, gowns, etc.
Knowledge of data base and spreadsheet software systems. Computer skills preferred and basic financial skills, as well as analytical skills for trend and situational analysis desired.
Ability to transport self to meetings, event and affiliated vendors.
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:

Bachelors Level required in early childhood education, child development, social work, or similar field

5 years of experience working with early childhood education programs, schools, children, and families
Verifiable good driving record and reliable transportation
