Off Site Linen Distribution Supervisor at Novo Health Services

Job Description:

The Off -Site Supervisor by being responsible for executing clients objectives is the first point of contact, that ensures that the client’s needs are met. Primarily responsible for the supervision of the Linen Room and the transfer of clean and soiled linen, to designated areas of the facility in such a way as to avoid any chance of cross contamination. Trains, develops and manages a staff of Linen Distribution Technicians.  Additionally assist client’s management in participating, and executing management’s objectives and procedures. Demonstrates company values, by exceeding the client’s and team expectations. Serves as the liaison between company and the client

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Prepare work schedules for staff employees and provide daily work assignments to meet required daily workload.

  • Ensure the proper transportation of clean linen in covered carts to designated areas.

  • Ensure the collection of soiled linen and its transportation in covered carts from to its designated areas.

  • Verify the quantities of all incoming and outgoing linen from plant to linen department.


  • Perform linen inventory as required.


  • Resolve client issues.

  • Communicate effectively with Business Manager regarding potential client issues and linen quality concerns.

  • Build and sustain great customer relationships by providing customer support and by working with internal resources to solve customer issues.

  • Create and document support solutions.

  • Develop new tools and processes to improve operations.

  • Contribute new feature requests and be a conduit for customer feedback.

  • Provides direction and guidance to linen technicians on client’s operational/regulatory procedures.

  • Uphold quality standards.

  • Manages overtime

  • Maintain department in clean, orderly and safe fashion

  • Participate in client’s operational and compliance meetings

  • Provide support to client’s administration by communicating the department’s compliance and adherence to established procedures and requirements of the institution

  • Manage hospital/institution inventory and provide recommendations on linen usage and better practices

  • Develop and train staff in to ensure satisfactory performance.

  • Foster a team environment by promoting open channels of communication, building commitment to a common vision and establishing and maintaining positive communication with employees.

  • Document and record associate production, time, safety incidents, absenteeism, and corrective actions promptly and accurately.

  • Prepare and/or maintains various logs, records and reports, such as, inventory, linen deliveries, time schedules, productivity, client satisfaction and any other required report.

  • As needed, operates equipment and performs duties related to the successful operation of the department.

  • Understand, observe and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.

  • Performs general clerical duties such as typing, answering phones, etc.

  • Adhere to Joint Commission Standards

  • Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate degree education

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the health care industry with supervisory responsibilities.

  • Laundry industry training or knowledge

  • Familiarity with a Nursing Home environment

  • Solid customer relations and service skills.

  • Superior organization skills with track record of achieving positive business.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with employee relations and team building.


  • Positive “can do” attitude with the ability to lead and positively influence a team.


  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Willingness to work evenings, night shifts, weekends and holidays.

  • Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.

  • Basic computer knowledge and the willingness to learn new computer applications.

  • Proven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accountable to the same.
