Quality Assurance Tester at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

To run test cases, scripts and procedures to ensure quality goals are met from development through the implementation of the K20 applications. The Quality Assurance Tester test the overall performance of all the applications developed by the K20 Center, such as educational games and the system to deliver and manage them. The QA Tester test cases, scripts, plans and procedures that ensure development of content, art and interaction as specified by the technical documents (Instructional Design Document, Game Design Document, and Technical Design Document). The QA Tester follows established industry standards to test the software at specified milestones and reports issues into a database. The QA Tester maintains a defect database and in coordination with team leads and perform regressions as needed. The QA Tester assist on the field testing of the games and makes recommendations to proper implementation. This incumbent's job tasks will include:

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:


  • 0-24 months in software quality assurance & video game development QA

Skills:


  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages

  • Knowledge of automated testing tools

Certifications:


  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.

Departmental Preferences:


  • Knowledgeable of an issue management system like Jira

  • 2 years of experience as a software QA tester

Supervision:  Potentially student testers.
