Ascend Learning’s Safety & Security segment is seeking a visionary Senior Product Manager, Cyber Security to join our team. This person will own the vision and content strategy for this high growth set of solutions. The position is responsible for establishing a strong clear product roadmap taking into account the strategic objectives and with deep understanding of the personas and customer needs. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will lead the translation of the roadmap into the creation and execution of product solutions from idea to market to ongoing adoption, usage and profitability. The position defines, launches, and builds profitable product solutions and ensures the solutions are developed to the feature and price specifications that each target market segment demands. Deep knowledge of agile practice, iterative development and digital first go to market execution is imperative to the role.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and drive an effective product roadmap inclusive of content and tech milestones and deliverables.

  • Oversee and support execution of holistic implementation and ongoing feedback loops for iterative improvements.

  • Determine customer needs and desires by specifying and conducting research, implement rapid iterative loops to learn, build, deliver.

  • Drive the overall execution of product lifecycle management including strategy, development, launch, maintenance of products/solutions in all markets as part of a cross functional business team.

  • Identify and respond to market need for product enhancement and versioning.

  • Own the long-term Ascend Business Unit Product Development Plan, including enhancements and innovation.

  • Support and facilitate the development and full implementation of company-wide go-to market plan, by working with cross-functional team members and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers and Project Manager to create a product plan, with particular attention to customer and market, content and asset requirements and interdependencies.

  • Coordinate pricing for products and solutions in consideration of the strategy to ensure profitable growth.

  • Serve as the go-to product and solution expert for the frontline sales and service organizations.

  • Achieve solution set financial and growth targets.

  • Collaborate on internal and external product message, marketing materials, and product launch.

  • Identify possible third party partner’s specific to business unit roadmap needs.

 Education & Experience:



  • Five to seven years of job experience in a product management, marketing, or product development role

  • Deep understanding of B2B and B2C market for cyber security

  • Background in Cyber Security, preferably with real world experience using, selling or supporting corporate or academic customers

  • Experience developing key strategies for product-related business objectives

  • Experience leading or overseeing Agile development efforts

  • Experience leading build/buy decisions

  • Prior consulting or project management experience is preferred

  • Experience in sales, marketing, profit and loss, and a management role

  • Proven ability to research and understand the targeted markets, clients and competition.

  • Ability to define clear roadmaps with meaningful business milestones

  • Ability to mobilize and focus resources on execution of business milestones

  • Able to think at scale and coach others

  • Critically and objectively analyze market needs, pain points, and desires in a concise and compelling fashion.

  • Ability to understand market and customer needs and translate those needs into viable product solutions.

  • Understanding of the dynamics of education and academic markets.

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security, adjacent markets, competitive landscape and market drivers.

  • Able to successfully launch disruptive and innovative technology and products.

  • Forecast product needs and results including financial planning, resourcing, sales projections, and marketing needs.

  • Seek out new or alternative ways of delivering and creating products that provide an engaging and outcome oriented experience.

  • Demonstrate curiosity as it relates to the industry, customer, and clients of customers.

  • Proactively seek out partnership opportunities to support and leverage existing products

  • Excellent prioritization skills based on customer needs and business unit requirements.

  • Ability to effectively manage time and maintain an organized set of records.

  • Provide reports that are related to relevant business unit concerns.

  • Proficiency with PC or MAC including Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Excellent leadership and internal communication skills.

  • Ability to set goals, build effective agendas, and lead successful meetings

  • Demonstrable creativity for problem solving.

 


Other Requirements (Travel, Shifts, Physical Demands, etc.):



  • Travel required 10-15% of the time

  • Weekend and evening work as needed
