Campus & Community Life Coordinator at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

Position Information: Assists with planning, development, and implementation of designated student programs and services. Develops campus life programs, coordinates HSC Student Affairs recruitment efforts, organizes activities, manages prospective student programs, develops community life within the HSC Campus and OKC community and encourages the development of volunteer programs.
 
Essential Duties:



  1. Student Recruitment: Serves as a valuable recruitment asset to HSC Student Affairs by working with many of the State’s colleges and universities in order to serve their needs and provide opportunities for their students to visit the HSC campus. Through tours, presentations, and working with other HSC professionals on campus, this position will establish relationships with key stakeholders in order to promote the many health career options available on the HSC campus. They will coordinate individual and group tours of the HSC campus throughout the calendar year. Creates student newsletters, brochures, handbooks and other publications. May coordinate or assist in the coordination of special projects or student related events.



  2. Liaison:  Serves as liaison with offices on and off campus. Counsels students, facilitates support groups and advises student organizations. Works as the liaison between HSC Student Affairs and the Norman campus advisors/recruiters. Attends Norman campus’ Office of Admissions and Records events as designated, and represents the HSC Campus at multiple events, such as college/career fairs.



  3. Campus Life:  Assists students in resolving academic problems and helps evaluate students for proper placement in class levels. Advises the HSC Chapter of Crimson Club and engages with current HSC students to help with prospective student recruitment. Furthermore, HSC Crimson Club members assist with campus-wide student programing.



  4. Program Representation: Serves as a resource for the campus community in regards to the HSC Student Affairs mission, the multiple recruitment programs, and the campus and community life at HSC. 



  5. Program Assessment: Assesses the needs of students and helps to develop and implement targeted programs and services. Oversees, evaluates, and assesses programs and the community life that is generated through HSC Student Affairs. 



  6. Administrative: Maintains records, to include but not limited to student files, inventory, personnel, and other office files. Assists with development and administration of office policies and procedures. Researches, collects, and analyzes data or information and preparing reports or responses to inquires



  7. As Needed: All other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President and Director of HSC Student Affairs.


Education:  Bachelor's Degree in a related field. 
 
Experience: None
 
Equivalency/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented:  observant, attention to policy and procedures



  • Creative, ability to market, sell, and promote services



  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases



  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines



  • Ability to communicate well and build quickly with students, faculty and staff


 
Department Preferences:


  • Experience as a professional in college student affairs or a non-profit organization



  • 12 months student programming, administrative experience, management, event experience (set-up and planning), or recruiting
