Job Summary:

The Trimble Construction Application Specialist is the technical expert for Trimble Construction products, and this role is specifically focused around Trimble's Paving Solutions. Their role is to understand the workflows of our end customers and to educate and train our distribution partners how the Trimble solutions complement and optimize those workflows. They will also communicate with the end customer to understand their pain points and create a solution that may encompass varying solutions across the Trimble portfolio. Ensuring that the channel can quote, install and commission these solutions is a critical role of this position. They will work closely with the sales and technical staff of our distribution partners to improve the technical selling process and the after sales installation and commissioning phases. Will also work with the training department to determine training needs of the dealer as well as help develop the necessary content.

The Construction Application Specialist will need an intimate understanding of civil construction processes and a strong knowledge of construction principles and how Trimble solutions apply to those principles.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Direct interface with distributors and customers in the onsite installation, training, and field implementation of Trimble's Civil Construction Product Solutions.
* Work with the regional sales team in the implementation of dealer development to increase sales of Trimble products and services for the Civil Construction Division.
* Interface with distribution management and sales personnel providing product training, assistance with job site demonstrations to win major account sales.
* Provide internal and distributor technical sales support
* Support strategic OEM partnerships relating to Trimble's Civil Construction product solutions
* Participate in new product releases and beta cycles to ensure information and training requirements are met to support new product sales to dealers.
* Provide outstanding quality pre-sale support with a high degree of customer satisfaction, technical expertise, with a thorough and timely response to customers.
* This is an Americas Technical Sales position with our Advanced Technology Solutions Team.
* Travel is expected to be +/- 50%

Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree [or equivalent experience] in Construction Management or Construction Engineering or Survey Engineering is highly preferred
* At least 3-5 years of civil construction related experience
* Maintains sense of urgency and is driven to solve customer problems
* Ability to make sound decisions based on customer needs and technical knowledge
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to coach and teach people
* A team player who is solution driven with the ability to multi-task effectively.
* Strong aptitude in construction operations and surveying techniques for road construction, earthmoving, industrial and residential development with demonstrated technical capability in both GPS and traditional optical methods. Hands on individual. Mechanically sound. Knowledge of 2D and 3D technology hydraulic and electrical installations
* Experience with road milling, asphalt and concrete paving
* CAD software and 3D modeling knowledge
* Experience with the following Trimble systems and capabilities is an asset:

• GNSS, UTS and Site Positioning System set-up and operations




• Trimble Business Center, VisionLink, WorksManager and WorksOS for data management




• GCS900, Earthworks, LOADRITE, Paving, Groundworks, Marine and/or Stratus
