HR Generalist- Sacramento at Express Messenger Systems, Inc

Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing the daily Human Resources functions within the facility to include: recruitment, retention, engagement, employee relations, and performance management by performing the following duties.

Shift: 7am-4pm

Responsibilities:


  1. Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

  2. Assist in development and facilitation of management training programs to include: sexual harassment, performance management, and the new hire/employee orientation process.

  3. Leads initiatives on talent development for Operations Managers to include facilitation of training.

  4. Conduct employee investigations ensuring compliance to policies and local laws. Document and store all investigations and evidence in appropriate file folder.

  5. Provide guidance and interpretation of policies of federal and state labor issues.

  6. Work collaboratively with various departments to achieve strategic goals.

  7. Promote fair and consistent employee treatment through proper application of policies, practices, while maintaining a climate of trust and open and direct communication.

  8. Coaches facility Managers for effective leadership and change management for fair discipline counseling and managing employee development issues.

  9. Partners with other members of regional and local leadership team to support employee engagement.

  10. Partner with RPO and managers to ensure proper and timely staffing.

  11. Assists employees with inquiries, concerns, and needs.

  12. Perform administrative duties as required.

  13. Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.

Organizational Relationship:

Advises, consults and coordinates with Facility and Corporate Management to provide assistance regarding employment policies and procedures. 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  Occasional travel is required. 

Minimum Requirements:


  • Must possess a minimum of three to six years of progressive Human Resource experience or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Incumbent must exhibit competencies to serve as a role model.

  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws.

  • Proficiency in Windows applications: Word, Excel, Outlook and familiarity with using HRIS.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Current HRCI or SHRM Certification.
