Summary of Major Responsibilities

The role of the Sales Training Manager is to optimize commercial effectiveness (CE) through both corporate office and field-based learning initiatives. The primary responsibilities of this role; include, but are not limited to, curriculum development, facilitate new hire training, group training programs, internal training support, and field-based training support. The training sessions are designed to enhance selling skills and drive sales results, while being consistently aligned to brand and sales strategies. The training content is determined by the commercial effectiveness team, marketing team, and specialty sales leaders. The Sales Training Manager is an important link in the continuous learning feedback loop that is designed for the on-going assessment and optimization in Exact Sciences sales execution. The Sales Training Manager will support the training and learning initiatives specific to the GI Specialty sales force and related teams.

The Sales Training Manager will support the training and learning initiatives specific to the Primary Care sales force and related teams.

This position can be based in Madison, WI or field based.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assist with the design, development, and implementation of new hire curriculum and learning resources; including, but not limited to, product information, selling skills, business analytics, and territory management.
  • Participate in the development of training initiatives with other CE personnel and cross-functional partners.

  • Facilitate training workshops to support learning needs and drive sales results.

  • Provide performance feedback of new hire sales professionals to optimize development and create seamless transitions from the training environment to work in the field.

  • Provide developmental coaching and feedback to representatives in 1:1 coaching sessions, as well as in group training environments.

  • Use processes effectively to operationalize delivery and tracking of sales training via the learning management system.

  • Collaborate with CE and sales leadership to ensure optimal pull-through of all training programs; including, but not limited to, initial sales training, brand initiatives, selling skills, and territory management.

  • Serve as a resource to CE, sales, and marketing for continuous learning related to sales execution.

  • Facilitate new hire training as well as large training events; including, but not limited to, new product launches, and field force expansions.

  • Conduct training via virtual and live training methods.

  • Maintain confidentiality and enforce sales training and Exact Sciences policies.

  • Comply with all Exact Sciences Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct and ensure that all activities, observed or taught, are also in accordance with these guidelines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.

  • Ability to travel 50% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or field related to the essential duties of the job; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.

  • 4+ years of sales or commercial experience.

  • Possess a high level of clinical knowledge, market access intelligence, and the latest training trends to maximize learning effectiveness.

  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or field related to the essential duties of the job.

  • Experience in primary care.

  • Experience in project management, and the development and delivery of effective presentations.

  • Training experience.

  • Challenger Sales Model experience.

  • Product launch or expansion launch experience.

  • Experience leading advisory groups and mentoring.

  • Sales coaching and documentation experience.

  • Ability to work out of the Madison, WI location.
