FlightSafety is the world leader in professional aviation training and simulation systems. This position is located at FlightSafety Visual Systems in St. Louis, Missouri, where we develop high fidelity visual systems for simulators. The Quality Engineer maintains quality requirements, standards and process improvements and supports and administers our ISO 9001-2000 based Quality Management System.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelors Degree in an engineering field.

Able to identify effective and efficient solutions for complex problem looking beyond the obvious and using critical thinking to drive for superior results.

Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and self-led.


Have planning and organizational skills and be able to work in a manner that ensures projects move swiftly while balancing workload. Holds self and others accountable to deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation through work instructions, process verification checklist or other visual method.

Serve as Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.

Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

Establishes processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.

Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.

Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.

Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.

Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.

Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities

Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
