Your Responsibilities

As an OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer at John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA you will support Assembly ME projects and change management for current operations on the Sprayer Product Assembly Line. You will:


  • Serve as a Project Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in driving improvements to support our Distinctive Product Quality initiatives, drive continuous improvements in delivery, uptime, cost, and efficiency with Natural Work Group.
  • Lead implementation of current product continuous improvement running design changes.
  • Lead the analysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology aligned to the Smart Connect Factory strategy.
  • Support requirements for internal operating philosophy John Deere Quality and Production System (JD-QPS) and external requirements such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

What Skills You Need


  • 3 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: Industrial, Product, Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical
  • 2 or more years of experience with process development and improvement, tooling design, fixturing and workstation layout
  • 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, and CreoView
  • 2 or more years of experience with Bill of Materials structure, build papers, and ECN process execution
  • 2 or more years developing and deploying shop floor documentation (sequence of events, labor standards, and operator methods sheets)
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience with John Deere Specific manufacturing software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool) and MPP (Manufacturing Process Planner)
  • Experience or knowledge of the Sprayer Product Line assembly processes
  • Strong data analysis skills - ability to create data a collection system, use data to perform descriptive; diagnostic; predictive or prescriptive analytics, and deliver appropriate output consumption tools to wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience with standard data application, time study, line balance, and CIPP Base development

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
