Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Chemist to join our Atlanta, Georgia team on a full-time basis.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Validation of environmental analytical data in accordance with USEPA, Regional, and state-specific data validation guidelines to ensure data quality objectives are met
Preparation of data validation narratives, data usability reports, and quality assurance project plans (QAPPs)
Coordination of environmental laboratory services and field sampling events
Management and reporting of environmental analytical data and geo-environmental data through multiple software platforms
Review and evaluate laboratory and field data and assemble in written reports
Participation in occasional field investigations and collection of environmental samples
Additional duties may be assigned
The successful candidate will have a background in:
B.S. Chemistry/Environmental Science or similar field
A minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental consulting or laboratory analytical chemistry
Detail-oriented and must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and interface with multiple project managers
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with USEPA analytical methods and USEPA data validation guidelines
Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemical analyses
Experience with analytical database management using Microsoft Access, EQuIS, and GIS programs. Experience with SQL/VBA desired.
Fluency in office productivity software such as Microsoft Word and Excel required
Commitment to working safely and adhering to all health and safety protocols
Occasional overnight field work assignments
Preferred:
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training is preferred
