Job Description:

The Radiation Oncology Department at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a dynamic, full time clinical medical physicist. The new physicist will join the current clinical physics group in providing full coverage of medical physics services associated with photon and proton therapy, treatment planning, quality assurance, and brachytherapy under the guidance of the Supervisor of Medical Physics. The candidate will have demonstrated clinical skills in medical physics and is expected to function independently and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital focuses on developing new treatments and methods for pediatric patients. . A component of effort is available for clinical trials and clinically-focused research projects. Services include conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, cone-beam CT-guided radiotherapy, brachytherapy (eye plaque and HDR), total body irradiation, and proton therapy.

The St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center is the world's only proton center dedicated solely to the treatment of children. The system is equipped with Hitachi's PROBEAT proton scanning beam delivery system. Treatment planning systems include Eclipse, Pinnacle, RayStation and Oncentra for HDR.

MS or PhD in Physical Sciences required.

Four (4) years of experience with MS in Physics.

Two (2) years of experience with MS in Medical Physics or PhD in Physics.

Completion of Part II of the American Board of Radiology Exam preferred.

Experience in Varian TrueBean preferred
