FI's Data Management Domain encompasses the methodologies, tools, and approaches that transform client data into a valuable asset, including data strategy and governance, data quality, and data architecture and modeling. FI's Data Domain Leader is responsible for driving the development and growth of this critical part of our business. The Data Domain Leader works closely with peer Domain Leaders as well as FI's delivery, sales, and executive teams.

Responsibilities


  • Clearly define the Data Management Domain in terms of the business problems that the domain solves, the methodologies/tools/technologies used to solve them, and value propositions.

  • Define the desired future state of the domain-including priority development areas-and create and execute plans to achieve it.

  • Actively monitor the market and synthesize a point of view on the best solutions and approaches to solve business problems. Understand advantages and disadvantages of competing approaches.

  • Be active in the data community by speaking at conferences, writing whitepapers, and participating in panel discussions

  • Design and implement solutions to solve client problems within the domain

  • Develop and implement training approaches to grow FI's capabilities within the domain

  • Play a key sales role by exploring client problems and advising on solutions

  • Lead technical solution development for proposal writing efforts

  • Identify talent and mentor future domain specialists and leaders

  • Act as a leader and owner, inspiring others internally and externally to follow your vision

Required qualifications


  • Leadership aptitude

  • 7+ years of experience delivering data management and analytics projects

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects and teams

  • Experience implementing Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and corporate data governance strategies, standards, and policies

  • In-depth knowledge of data structures, data warehouse concepts, and data modeling

  • Experience designing data architectures including relational, document, and graph

  • Experience implementing data security protocols

  • Experience developing and automating extraction, transform, and load (ETL) processes including using enterprise data integration tools (Informatica, Matillion, Talend, Alteryx)

  • Experience using and evaluating enterprise database platforms (Oracle, IBM, SAP HANA, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

  • Experience supporting and governing critical metadata management

  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, or GCP) including native storage and tooling solutions

  • Experience writing SQL and one or more general purpose languages such as Python, R, Java, or Scala

  • Familiarity with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Kafka, Cassandra)

  • Familiarity with graph databases (RDF, property, and accompanying databases)

  • Understanding of software engineering processes and principles

  • Understanding of industry trends related to methodologies and technologies, including new and emerging cloud technologies

  • Ability to coach and mentor all levels of team members

  • Ability to articulate highly technical information in a simple, concise, clear, and understandable manner

Preferred qualifications


  • Experience in the financial services industry, including model risk management, credit risk, CCAR, CECL, and fraud detection.

  • Familiarity with container based environments (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO)

  • Ability to converge graph database capabilities with data mining, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), visualization and other graph user interface techniques

  • Familiarity with graph embeddings and ability to train neural networks and deep learning systems

  • Proficiency in SPARQL and other graph query languages and prior work with graph databases

  • Familiarity with API design in Java or Python, including REST and GraphQL

  • Familiarity with implementing machine learning models in Python, SAS, or R

  • Working experience with a data catalog/data governance platform such as Collibra or Solidatus

  • Experience working with DCAM and ACT-IAC maturity models

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques

  • Prior consulting experience
