We are currently hiring a Pyrometry Technician at our Irvine, CA plant. As a Pyrometry Technician you'll play a key role with ensuring production goals and objectives are met while also achieving product quality and conformance to customer requirements.As a Pyrometry Technician you will be responsible for maintaining all heat treatment and forging furnace systems in accordance with AMS2750.
A successful Pyrometry Technician is a thought leader and problem solver.In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly come up to speed with ATI, our forging and heat treat operations, process, products and customers; and work collaboratively and effectively with many cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and engineering.
Additional Responsibilities
* Schedule and coordinate performance of all Thermal Uniformity Surveys and System Accuracy Tests for both heat treatment and forging furnaces
* Schedule and coordinate performance of all Dynamic Surveys for forging furnaces
* Prepare and submit reports of all tests and surveys to Quality for acceptance
* Track furnace performance by aggregating data from tests, surveys, and production records
* Schedule production of heat treat furnaces
* Review furnace charts and completed load maps daily to verify operations meet requirements and prepare certification package for quality review
* Monitor furnace operation and performance and coordinate with facilities to ensure furnaces are maintained
* Adjust furnace control systems as necessary to maintain and optimize furnace performance
* Manage calibration of all data measuring and acquisition devices
* Operate and manage calibration of Brinell/Rockwell hardness testing equipment
* Monitor quench tank operation and polymer concentration including agitation and manipulation systems
* Rack parts and otherwise prepare, load, and unload heat treat loads for production purposes
* Manage inventory of load blocks by alloy type
* Maintain calibration logs for surveys, System Accuracy Tests (SAT's), equipment and sensors
* Ensure noble probe reclamation is executed
* Participate in Nadcap audits
Basic Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* At least two years of industrial Heat Treat, Pyrometry or furnace operation experience
* Applied experience with AMS 2750 for heat treating practices and procedures
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
* Certificate of training in AMS 2750 Rev F (preferred)
Skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
* Strong knowledge of thermocouple wires and probes, and hardness testing practices and procedures
* Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long term solutions
