In addition to our refining and logistic operations PAR Pacific operates retail stores at locations that serve the needs of our local communities. We maintain a leading retail position in Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. We own and operate 90retail locations in Hawaii under the Hele, nomnom, and 76 brands. High real estate costs, scarcity of land, and logistics complexity strengthen our competitive position across Oahu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kaui. In Washington and Idaho, we own and operate 33 locations under our proprietary nomnom brand. Our Washington and Wyoming refineries are well-positioned to supply the retail locations in this region.

Retail IT Specialist

PAR Pacific NomNom is seeking a Retail IT Specialist. Candidates should be tech savvy self-starter with good information technology installation, maintenance, repair, and configuration skills. Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of POS equipment and/or previous retail experience is a plus. To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Position is 40+ hours per week located at our office headquarters (8AM to 4PM) and onsite at our retail locations.

Key responsibilities and desired skills:

• 24 hour on-call rotation member (on call every other week, including weekends).


• Ability to respond to after-hours emergency calls in a timely manner.


• Troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software for 31 retail locations and two offices.


• Some travel between sites required (must have a vehicle, valid driver's license, and be insurable).


• Basic knowledge of network segmentation and IP addressing (TCP/IP/VLAN).


• Knowledge of standard office applications including: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Teams, and PowerPoint.


• Point-of-sale experience a plus! Pinnacle Palm, Gilbarco Passport, and ComData SmartDesq.


• Working knowledge of XML, which is used to transfer data and configure fuel dispensers.


• Experience troubleshooting internet service provider (ISP) and managed network service provider (MNSP) issues.


• Windows 10 and remote desktop proficiency is necessary.


• Strong written and oral communication. Candidate will be responsible for communicating technology changes, issues, and procedures to 200+ employees.


• Some knowledge of PCI and EMV standards desired.


• Experience using or the ability to learn retail applications such as PDI, Focal Point, and Market Basket.


• Cabling experience, specifically CAT5/5e/6.


• IP Camera and Network Video Recorder experience.


• Ability to independently research and find solutions to common and uncommon issues using the resources available to you.


• Thorough knowledge and experience repairing/troubleshooting POS hardware and peripherals.


• Excellent problem-solving skills necessary


• Ability to accept/update and close all service events within defined SLAs


• Collaborate with technical support to resolve any issues for calls.


• Participate in any scheduled projects and Preventive Maintenance (PM)

The position will require occasional travel to remote locations and may involve overnight stays. Must be able to lift equipment over 25lbs. Personal vehicle required for travel to stores with mileage reimbursement.
