We are searching for a Front-End Department Supervisor in our Nichols NY facility.
Front End Department Supervisor
Job Accountabilities
Coordinates and supervises activities of equipment and personnel throughout the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage. Works with Plant Leadership to drive department key performance indicators. When needed, applies knowledge of various processes, production methods and processes to improve the plant production. Manages machinery set-up and adjustment and inspects products to ensure compliance to standards. Oversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limits. When needed coordinates information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information. Problem solving; will work with employees by identifying, discussing solutions and implementing "fixes" on machinery and equipment. Assuring transfer of knowledge to all shifts. Will train, coach all employees as needed. Responsible to complete and/or administer necessary documentation. May be required to change shifts and plant departments to cover absences or provide additional support from time to time.
Bachelor's Degree required: a degree in Engineering or other technical discipline preferred. 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with command of MS Office (Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint). Has the ability to consistently meet deadlines, using strong organizational and project management skills. Work and develop relationship with outside vendors and coordinate their project work as needed. Must be available to work overtime and weekend hours as needed.
