Position Description

Assists Crew Chief / Test Cell Leader with production flow and work schedule
Act as back up to Crew Chief / Test Cell Leader
Provides support and guidance to group and able to troubleshoot issues/problems
Works under the supervision of test cell supervisor to prepare engines for test, perform all tests as per the EMM and prepare engine for shipping after test. Perform necessary maintenance in the test cell to correct any discrepancies found during test.
Perform maintenance on engines in engine shop as required. Perform repairs and calibration on all test cell equipment as required.
Uses mechanic's hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, test equipment, aircraft jacks, hoists, work platforms, dollies, and tow bars.
Documents all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting, and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
Perform Training and Certification of Test Cell Operators
Perform and Manage Test Cell Calibration
Manage / Track Critical Test Cell Equipment / Spares
Perform 1st Line Troubleshooting on Test Cell Facility
Liaison with Facilities/Maintenance Dept for facility maintenance issues
Liaison with local engineering for troubleshooting and support
Liaison with Central Engineering Test Cell Support
Liaison with local IT support
Liaison with OEMs for unique test requirements
Perform some Local Repairs
Works fair share of overtime and night shift.
Observes all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping rules and policies.
May perform other duties as required by the department.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License

• Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience as an A&P Mechanic in corporate aviation.

• HTF7000/TFE731 Test Cell experience required. Factory authorized training on assigned aircraft or engines is preferred.

• Technical competency on assigned engine(s).

• Analytical skills required to perform complex mechanical troubleshooting.

• History of demonstrating high levels of initiative in completing all job assignments, clearly following directions, and promoting teamwork within the department.

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

• Sufficient leadership skills in order to be able to supervise others, train less experienced mechanics, and lead on road trips.

• Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written. Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to interface with customers and employees.

• Ability to work overtime, based on departmental/ business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb platforms and ladders

• Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
