Senior Customer Manager - Specialty

Boston - New Jersey

This Customer facing role is responsible for achieving profitable sales and category growth through assigned Retailers and Distributors while building strong relationships and influencing to senior levels within the customer's organization. This associate will also need to create and execute company and customer plans that deliver objectives of: revenue, growth, profit, assortment, everyday shelving. They will be responsible for delivering against assigned growth targets by increasing chocolate share, executing merchandising objectives, achieving targeted headquarter authorization, and implementing pricing strategies.

This role will also establish close working relationships with all peers across the channel team including: category management, supply, finance and otherinternal partners and cross functional partners to achieve these objectives. This associate must have the ability to interpret data and understand industry trends in order to leverage customer, consumer, or category insight to identify and present value-added customer business solutions. They need a detailed understanding of the financial measures of Mars-Wrigley to maximize investments and profitability.

Key Experiences:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 5 years Account Management experience preferably in the CPG industry

  • Excellent networking skills for building relationships with customer base at all levels

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent conflict management skills Ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Demonstrated strong Financial management skills

  • Ability to work from a remote/home office

  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Key Responsibilities:


  • Leverage insights to create solutions for profitable sales growth. This includes products/assortment, placement , that achieve customer and company objectives.

  • Propose mutually beneficial solutions through strategic sales planning and implement in-store activation.

  • Execute sales programs to deliver on distribution, merchandising, and pricing objectives.

  • Execute new product launches with timely and effective execution to maximize customer impact.

  • Conduct collaborative planning meetings with key customers to identify priorities, align initiatives, and agree to a course of action which will result in improved long-term partnerships.

  • Manage customer trade funds in compliance with internal and external requirements and continually improve effectiveness of spending

  • Identify and analyze business trends utilizing syndicated reporting data.

  • Provide accurate and timely volume forecasts for all assigned segments.

  • Manage communication to team retail on customer initiatives where coverage is applicable.
