Position Title: Urban Planner - 4N


Position Summary 


Conduct research regarding use of land and physical facilities owned or managed by Crown Castle and alternate site locations within certain jurisdictions, such as, towns, cities, counties, and metropolitan areas across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Support various cross functional departments within Crown Castle on strategic and developmental initiatives.


 Essential Job Functions 



  • Conducts alternate site research and prepares various reports related to leasing, zoning, RF, land use viability, and consolidation of tower sites.

  • Conduct field investigations, surveys, impact studies or other research to compile and analyze data on economic, social, regulatory, or physical factors affecting land use.

  • Create, prepare or requisition graphic and narrative reports on land use data, including land area maps overlaid with geographic variables such as population demographics.

  • Reviews Alternate Site Review reports submitted by vendors, prepares final documents and addendums to research.

  • Discuss alternate site locations with planning officials. Keep informed about economic or legal issues involved in zoning codes, building codes or environmental regulations.

  • Determine the effects of regulatory limitations on projects.

  • Coordinates with outside vendors as directed.

  • Provides candidate-specific recommendations for leasing and land use viability.

  • Occasionally conducts negotiations to secure alternate locations.

  • Other projects within the CCRE Strategic Relocation group, as directed.

 Education/Certifications                                                                                                



  • High school or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Master’s Degree preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements



  • Minimum of one (1) + year of experience in urban planning or related field.

Other Skills/Abilities



  • Analytical and scientific software experience including computer aided design CAD, desktop publishing software, graphics or photo imaging, map creation and reading.

  • Customer and personal service.

  • Administration and management.

  • Relationship building.

  • Real estate law and government experience.

  • Active listening.

  • Deductive reasoning.

  • Oral and written communication.
