The Financial Analysis and Controllers groups within the Office of the CFO provide financial & business information and insights across a range of key deliverables inclusive of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting and capital stress testing, macroeconomic scenario design and execution, and the business development of our financial infrastructure. Further, the Financial Analysis and Controllers groups represent the Firmwide view and also each of the 5 lines of business within the company including Consumer & Community Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Asset & Wealth Management, and Corporate.

The Finance & Business Management (F&BM) Transformation group partners with Financial Analysis and Controllers to build scalable, end-to-end process solutions that optimize the use of financial data assets, drive improvement in human capital productivity, advance platform capabilities & efficiency, maximize user self-service options, and exhibit robust controls while at the same time we develop and manage skills of the future development programs and actively engage colleagues across the F&BM organization to upskill as required to successfully evolve technical solutions over a long-term horizon.

Job Description:

The Reporting Automation Garage leads initiatives across Global Finance with a focus on automating manual processes and creating visual dashboards using BI tools such as Alteryx and Tableau. Sitting in the center, this team interfaces with internal clients (P&A, CFO, and Controller Groups) to source ideas around enhanced automation and dashboard opportunities, run functional and technical feasibility analyses, translate ideas into use cases, and partner with Technology to deliver tangible solutions.

Responsibilities


  • Single point of contact and coordination for multiple projects, analyses, or products; responsible for developing timelines, aligning resources, and driving progress to an aggressive timeline
  • Manage and validate the output of related specialized groups, and influence work plan in each to ensure they align to desired business results
  • Communicate to senior audiences on results or progress of book of work
  • Ensure audit, compliance, legal and other firm controls are followed and installed on each project and relevant activity
  • Develop new ideas for projects based on observations in existing book of work and data asset
  • Embrace a mentoring role in developing associate and analyst talent within the organization
  • Makes sound decisions in the best interest of the firm according to risk management practices and policies

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a focus on BIS, MIS, computer science, or another quantitative field; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in a related data discipline, and/or 3+ years at a top management consulting firm
  • Requires deep and broad subject matter expertise (and the willingness to learn)
  • Demonstrate superior judgment to mitigate risk, and fosters an environment where risk/control issues are escalated and trends are anticipated and identified
  • Demonstrates full appreciation of and compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Build a cohesive team through strong communication, team involvement, and strong leadership
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication and presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with Senior leaders to enable collaboration, decision-making, and transparency
  • Demonstrated strong ability to analyze problems, design solutions, and communicate effectively and confidently (both verbal and written) with relevant stakeholders to gain buy-in
  • Comfort with ambiguity and proven ability to structure problems and develop analytical frameworks
  • Exercise sound judgment; act with integrity; protect our company, clients and customers
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to influence across various job functions.
  • Highly self-motivated, able to manage and deliver in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus)

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and the SDLC.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with data modeling, data management, and visualization concepts in a business environment required, with:

    • 2+ year with visualization tools. Tableau a plus
    • 2+ year with data wrangling tools. Alteryx a plus.
    • 1+ year with database tools and SQL. Oracle a plus.

  • Working knowledge of web development technologies and JavaScript / React a plus.
