DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of an Architect, you will create and draft architectural plans, specifications, and drawings for buildings and structures. Prepare plans and specifications for furniture and equipment. Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect for both new construction and minor alterations. Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records. Coordinate all phases of minor construction projects, from architectural planning and design through construction and acceptance of contractor's work on minor building projects. Assist the licensed architect on major building projects by assuming responsibility for phases of a project and serve as the staff specialist on assigned areas of architectural information. Develop design solutions on multiple ongoing projects in the design or construction stage and respond to a wide variety of design or construction issues at any one time. Ability to work under tight deadlines, as well as the ability to work independently at times.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • BS/BA in Architecture or MS/MA in Architecture
  • 5 years of experience in the design and documentation of architecture projects including welldeveloped skills in 3D visualization
  • Requires experience in the following skills and technologies: building information modeling (BIM)/Autodesk Revit; building information modeling (BIM) and AutoCAD
  • Experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, illustrator, indsign3d max a plus
  • Requires familiarity with industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects.
