Description

The Senior Security Specialist performs multiple program security functions to include Personnel Security, Information Security, Information System Security, Communication Security and Physical Security for SCI and Industrial Security. The Senior Security Specialist will be expected to perform as the Company Team/Site Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Performs multiple program security functions to include Personnel Security, Information Security, Information System Security, Communication Security and Physical Security for SCI and Industrial Security.


  • The Senior Security Specialist analyzes operations to determine functional and cross-functional security requirements.


  • Performs functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships, and identifies resources required for each task.


  • Must contribute substantive content to the development and implementation of security policies.


  • Develop and administer security programs and procedures and advise staff of security matters and implementation.


  • Serve as the certifying official for processing visitor security clearances, granting facility access, and ensuring person-to-person communication and coordination occurs under applicable guidelines and regulations.


  • Conduct indoctrination briefings, debriefings, security education classes, and orientation of employees regarding personnel and physical security requirements.


  • Conduct security self-inspections and audits for personnel security.


  • Shall pre-screen SCI paperwork, create e-QIP accounts, and review SF-86s for initial and periodic reinvestigations for all government military and civilians assigned to the command.


  • Conduct random security inspections to assess the command’s physical security posture.


  • Manage security incidents and report to the appropriate agencies.


  • Coordinate with associated agencies to ensure efficient processing of onboarding personnel.


  • Shall initiate action towards accomplishing assignments to assist in furthering progress toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.


  • Perform other security related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Must exhibit in-depth level of knowledge of DOD manuals, instructions, regulations, guidelines, and ICDs pertaining to national security programs (i.e. DoD 5105.21 V1-3, SECNAVINST 5510.30/36, ICD 704, and ICD 705).


  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently or under only general direction.


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Security Requirements

The selected individual must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening as a condition of employment.  The selected individual may/will be subject to a Government security background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements. Clearance level requirement may be subject to change at the government’s discretion.  In this event, you will be required to obtain and maintain a required Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph or higher for the duration of your employment. Incumbent may be selected at a higher or lower clearance level as specified by any change made by the Government.

Educational / Work Experience


  • Requires a minimum of twelve years of experience, of which at least six years must be specialized in process functional analysis or the discipline required by the task order.


  • Must possess superior functional knowledge of task order specific requirements and have experience in developing functional requirements for complex integrated business or security systems.


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Criminal Justice or other related scientific, technical, or functional discipline is required. With a Master's Degree (in the fields described above), ten years of general experience is required, of which at least four years must be specialized experience. With fifteen years of general experience, at least eight years of specialized experience is required, and a degree is not required.
