Title: Staff Software Architect- 73420

This position is eligible for remote or a flexible work arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Architect for Des Moines Works, located in Ankeny, IA, you will implement controls and embedded software code used for machine control within multiple machine sub-systems, including engine and drivetrain, guidance, and pump/valve controls within an agricultural working environment. In addition, you will:

• Create or apply vehicle electrical and software architecture to solve complex problems
• Work and leverage and collaborate with internal and external teams to develop embedded software to deploy the next generation of agricultural application machines
• Communicate with internal team and external enterprise resources to coordinate integrated software changes

What Skills You Need

• 5 or more years of experience developing embedded software
• Understanding of machine CAN based systems and integration of software within those systems
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting software within a CAN architecture
• Knowledge and experience developing code in Simulink, C/C++, RTOS, or John Deere JDOS
• Experience architecting voltage control circuits, current and voltage drivers, and electrical schematics to deploy control systems

What Makes You Stand Out

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or other related technical area
• Experience in John Deere embedded software development in Simulink or JDOS16
• Experience in software development using Emb32
• Demonstrated experience solving difficult problems
• 5 or more years of experience in agricultural embedded software development, deployment, or test
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
• Experience developing controls SW for drivetrain, electric drives, or mechanical actuation devices

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant major.
