JOB SUMMARY: The Lead Pilot FW is additionally responsible for the management of the base pilots and any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Pilot, Chief Pilot and/or Director of Operations. The Lead Pilot FW exemplifies the strong technical skills necessary to function as an active flight team member, while simultaneously leading and mentoring fellow pilots for consistent quality of execution and continued professional growth. Success can be realized by ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction, developing/retaining a profitable market share, increasing non-acquisition growth, and embracing GMR's mission. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: * Ensures base pilot compliance with FARs, Company SOP and Operations Manual. * Functions as a liaison for base airport and FBO related issues. * Responsible for flight and duty time collection and audit for pilot records. Collects by the 7th of each month and audits for errors, ensures pilots' signature. Sends to Admin Office by the 10th of each month. * Audits process of flight and duty time information and Air Chart entries for each pilot's calendar items. * Payroll approval for base pilot timecards. * Ensures completion of AVSTAR duties. * Annual performance reviews for base pilots. * Attends monthly base meetings. * Monthly meetings- lead pilot/flight instructor, as assigned. * Produces monthly flight time reports. * Visa statement report for aircraft credit card purchase. * Manages pilot schedule for base of operation to include PTO and trade days. * Primarily responsible for base pilot staffing, developing/maintaining pilot schedules to include current policy on work rotations, vacation requests, swaps and sick time coverage while monitoring pilot duty time, morale/health. * Works with the Base Program Director on relevant base related issues. Works with the Base Operations Manager in developing the base budget and other base logistical needs. * Primarily responsible for the continued review process for each pilot assigned. Organizes and conducts each pilot's review under HR guidelines, under the supervision of the Chief Pilot. * Participates and conducts monthly continuing education and training requirements for the assigned base pilots to ensure preparation for and consistency in the pilot check rides. * Contributes and makes recommendations to the base pilot or mechanic hiring processes and make recommendations concerning hiring of flight department personnel. * Participates in base pilot personnel actions as the first line supervisor. * Assists the Base Program Director in ongoing operations or safety training for medical crews or pilots. * Attends quarterly company management meetings, base/process review meetings and periodic lead pilot meetings when required. * Ensures all line pilots comply with duties and responsibilities per their job description. * Serves as a member of the management team and contributes as a team member in accomplishing the mission and vision of GMR. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Licensing/Certification: * 3000 hours total time (helicopter) * 1500 hours PIC (helicopter) * 1500 hours turbine * 500 hours of cumulative night experience * 200 hours of cumulative IFR experience (IFR & IFR Reserve Position) * FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Certification * Helicopter Instrument Rating * Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate * (Preferred but not required) * Single Pilot IFR experience * NVG Experience * EC-135/145 experience * FAR 135 Experience * Previous HAA experience * ATP (H) Rating * Flight Currency within past 12 months General Requirements * Excellent customer service skills * Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and persuasively (oral and written) * Ability to maintain composure under pressure, work efficiently and accurately with frequent interruptions and set and reset multiple priorities * Presents a professional image as a GMR Flight Team member. * Maintains a positive team attitude and cohesive working relationship with nurses, paramedics, pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, communication specialists and all other supporting departments * Maintains proficiency and exercises best practices regarding relevant aviation SOPs, protocols and policies * Stays current on local EMS Agency and/or county protocols and requirements * Maintains proficiency and evaluates risk/benefit of helicopter and ground rescue operations * Directs, educates and coordinates colleagues on medical calls and trauma scenes to achieve maximum effectiveness * Works collaboratively with other public service/public safety entities in a variety of inter-agency operations * Maintains currency in all required trainings and certifications Experience: Experience in the following is preferred, but not required; * Helicopter hoist/technical rescue experience * Meeting emergencies, rapid problem-solving and sound decision-making in the field with changing conditions * Building consensus and teamwork under stressful conditions * Planning and organizing work assignments * Extreme confined space/precision flight operations * Meeting emergencies, rapid problem-solving, and sound decision-making in the field with changing conditions * Long line/belly hook experience * Aerial Firefighting (spotter) * Aerial Firefighting (Bambi bucket) * Heavy-lift, logging or utility experience * Low to high angle and swift water rescue techniques | Job Description :

WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Working Conditions/Physical/Mental:
* Performs activities requiring a moderate amount of standing, sitting and walking
* Able to conduct activities requiring a moderate to rigorous amount of static pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting (knuckle height and ankle height)
* Capable of lifting 75lbs. floor to bench height
* Capable of safe and expedient ingress/egress to and from aircraft or emergency vehicles in undeveloped landing zones or unrefined, uneven ground
* Ability to hear routine aircraft and medical equipment noises
* Maintains a "duty" weight (body weight + uniform/equipment - helmet not included) of less than 220lbs (weigh-ins every quarter) for PUO Rotor Wing (Helicopter) operations
* Must be able to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit, when required
* Requires close and distant visual capability
* Periodic hands to key ability (typing)
* Ability to work within a 24-hour job environment
* Ability to mentally focus for extended periods of time under stress.
* Able to maintain precision control of aircraft and hoist litter in variable flight conditions.
Capable of concise radio communication and crew feedback, accepting multiple, rapid, blind-flight commands from hoist operator crew members

Work Place Conditions: The Public Utility Operations Pilot is physically based at an airport (or similar) "crew quarters" for 12 hour shifts and must be prepared at a moment's notice (within 4 minutes) to begin air ambulance or rescue missions that last from hour to 8 hours in duration. The crew quarters are equipped with kitchen, shower, rest and sleeping facilities.

Work Schedule: The expected standard shift for a REACH Public Utility Operation Division Pilot is 12-hour shift, 7 days on, 7 days off. Some shifts may run over 12 hours, but not longer than 15 hours per shift.
