Position Summary:


As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting all areas of the general accounting department, including preparation of journal entries, monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analytics. The Staff Accountant assists in the enhancement of internal controls and participates in special projects to support business initiatives.


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics over significant account balances.

  • Review and analyze general ledger transactions and accounts.

  • Compile support and respond to requests from management and external auditors.

  • Assist with the preparation of various portfolio standalone audit reports.

  • Evaluate and analyze internal controls for effectiveness and maintain accounting process documentation.

  • Support multi-state business compliance through the preparation of sales and use tax returns and property tax filings as needed.

  • Participate in special projects as required related to the optimization of financial and organizational procedures.

 


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 1 - 2 years of previous accounting experience

  • CPA designation preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
