About this role:

The VP of Operations is a member of the executive leadership team within Executive Programs and will lead the team responsible for the Executive Programs Operations & business intelligence function. This role will provide strategic vision in establishing business information processes; lead analysis and provide insight and recommendations to support decision-making .

Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with ExP leadership to understand business information priorities in order to design and develop business information processes, systems and analytics that enable ExP associates to achieve strategic objectives

  • Partner with Global Strategy & Ops (GS&O) Advanced analytics team to drive business insights and determine end-to-end trends and insights on ExP business performance. Support consistency and alignment of ExP metrics with broader Global Services & Delivery metrics

  • Partner with GS&O team as a part of the analysis for ExP s annual Long-Range Planning assignments. Interpret data, identify key findings and develop recommendations.

  • Partner with GS&O to deliver key capabilities through reporting and analytics, dashboards, self-serve analytics tools and the successful execution of complex projects while driving continuous improvement in the business capabilities across Executive Programs and Gartner as a whole.

  • Develop overall business unit strategy, priority programs and metrics and goals for service delivery function

  • Develop high quality insights in monthly ELT and quarterly ops reviews including

    • Synthesis of losses and turnarounds of renewal risk

    • Improvement actions sized and prioritized (to-do, doing, done)



  • Lead or oversee publication of monthly management reports and updates

  • Lead execution of ExP Specific growth and retention programs within ExP and across Team NCVI - define program, execute and track performance impact (e.g. Digital Engagement Scorecard)

  • Drive consistency of execution across all ExP teams

  • Support execution of Global Services & Delivery priorities - e.g. Common Service Delivery Model

  • Advance ExP priorities with GS&O functions (e.g., L&D, Analytics, Technology, Communications), ensure the testing and coordinated implementation of business process solutions

  • E nable the business to seamlessly adopt a process culture, standards, governance, and methodologies including territory planning

  • Train ExP associates in the use of business information systems and business intelligence tools to enhance service delivery effectiveness and business decision-making capability

  • Lead, inspire, coach, and manage a diverse team of top performing professionals and leaders through the strategic and day to day execution of the core operational functions within Executive Programs.

Impact of Role & Expected Results:

  • Ensure that Executive Programs BU is using necessary tools, systems, processes, and information to execute on its strategic objectives

  • Partner to provide innovative business solutions and optimizes the performance of ExP business intelligence tools

  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in ExP's business systems and the be a conduit between GS&O and ExP overall

Requirements:


  • 10+ years progressive business experience, preferably in a strategy, operations or business consulting role, including 5+ years building and leading teams responsible for strategic operations, executive reporting and the development and deployment of global teams. Mix of consulting and operational leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • MBA strongly preferred with an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering or mathematics.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations. Excellent verbal & written communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts and analyses in an accessible and compelling way.

  • Engagement Manager experience or higher with top-tier consulting firms.

  • Strong knowledge of operations practices with a proven ability to establish trusted business relationships across business units, gain consensus and drive action from a large, diverse global set of constituents.

  • Results-oriented with excellent business vision and strategic thinking and a proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively and successfully drawing the larger business story out of facts and data.

  • Preferably a high degree of technical competency, including the ability to program using a query language interface such as SQL or Access; expert Excel skills; expert report-writing skills, e.g. Crystal Reports; and advanced PowerPoint skills

  • Open to new perspectives and better ways to do things; be creative, visionary, and manage innovation well

  • Strong understanding of business intelligence as a discipline. Developing understanding of Big Data Analytics with ability to translate strategic objectives into business intelligence/associated functional requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in a fast-paced environment and to inspire rapid adoption of change in a complex matrixed organization with distributed virtual teams.

  • Six-sigma certification (green belt or black belt) preferred
