Facility Supervisor - Downtown Boise YMCA at TREASURE VALLEY FAMILY YMCA

Job Description:

The Facility Supervisor (Cause-Driven Leader on Duty) is responsible for overall supervision of the YMCA building and grounds during assigned shifts. This position provides leadership and influence to others and fosters the Y's culture by modeling engagement principles, capturing living our cause moments, and exemplifying and promoting safe behaviors.
Responsibilities:

Support others in handling and resolving concerns and inform appropriate branch supervisors and risk about incidents that may occur.
Function as a point person for other staff, coaching frontline staff on their service and engagement behaviors and habits.
In the absence of other Department Coordinator or higher level leadership staff, monitor programs and activities to ensure adherence to association leading practices.
Respond to member and staff concerns, questions, and emergencies in a positive and professional manner.
Provide tours and fulfill all Welcome Center staff job requirements, for which this position is a lead.
Build relationship when working with YMCA members, program participants, volunteers and staff.
Assist and educate members and guest in YMCA policies and procedures.
Assist all staff in taking responsibility for equipment and supplies used, helping maintain good working conditions, inventory, and clean-up after all activities.
Walk the entirety of the building every thirty minutes, interacting with members and staff and observing all program and activity areas; delegate an opposite gender staff member to walk through the locker rooms.
Ensure building safety and security. During 30 minute walk-throughs, check for locked doors and monitor identified Child Abuse Prevention areas of concern. Ensure all exterior doors are armed and secure prior to exiting the building after hours.
Ensure all areas are safe and clean and report any housekeeping or maintenance needs to the appropriate staff. Post out of order signs on equipment when needed.
Assist with setup and direct participants to any special events (workshops, clinics, committee meetings, etc.)
Assist with emergency procedures and facility polices and take a leadership role in implementation as appropriate.


Qualifications:

Experience in customer service, sales, or related experience
Excellent human relation skills and an ability to maintain positive communication with staff and members.
Ability to address and make solid decisions in emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use.
Prior experience of successful supervision of staff and volunteers preferred


Physical Demands:

Continuous: walking, standing
Frequent: Reaching, bending, listening, ascend/descend stairs
Occasional: lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 lbs, sitting, crouching, twisting


Schedule Requirements:
This is a part-time position, Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 5:00pm-9:15pm. Schedule may vary to meet the needs of the facility.
