Job Description:

SUMMARY:


CG Railway, LLC, a joint venture between subsidiaries of Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) and SEACOR Holdings Inc. (NYSE:CKH). This position plans and coordinates all aspects of logistics planning and customer service for CG Railway’s customer base. They will communicate and arrange transit with customers, marketing, transportation, and all other applicable departments and entities. They also work to develop progressive customer relationships by proactively focusing support to the customers’ business success as a means of sustaining railroad profitability. They will find solutions to complex issues in-line with established expectations under the direction of the department director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Export/Import

    • Sending all required communications to our partners

    • Plan cargo line up for the CG Railway rail ferry vessels between the Port of Mobile, Alabama and the Port of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz




    • Manifest shipment information into the US Custom’s Export System

    • Ensure cargo is compliant for export/import prior to lading

    • Accuracy of information


  • Maintain CGR inventory


    • Oversee and allocate rail equipment for cargo loading

    • Proactively track US export/import shipments on partner railroads and provide transit analysis


  • Customer Service


    • Ownership of solving customer problems and developing opportunities to add value to our service to increase service profitability

    • Respond to email and phone inquiries and provide day-to-day contact with customers concerning their shipments

    • Recap customer service activities internally on a weekly basis and maintain records


    • Maintain accurate records in all systems for car movements, yard inventories, and other data as necessary.


  • Work with all CGR teams to ensure information is communicated as needed

  • Actively engage in the company’s safety culture

  • Maintain certifications as needed

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  • Bilingual (Spanish / English). Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers via the telephone and emails in English and Spanish.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in the railroad or import/export documentation a plus.

  • Experience using Wabtec-TMS, RMS, BI, RTT a plus

  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail, a must.

  • Ability to work outside of regular office hours, holidays and weekends.

 


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:



  • High school diploma or GED and four years working in the field of import/export documentation.
