What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences

  • Enable product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and testing experiences for digital products; facilitate and lead design studio workshops

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions

  • Make strategic design and user experience decisions related to core and new functions/features

  • Collaborate with others, prioritize decisively and communicate with authority when needed

  • Inspire and mentor other UX and project team members

  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs

  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas; communicate clearly with internal and external customers

  • Showcase your knowledge of the industry's latest trends and technologies


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 2 years of UX design experience


It'd be great if you also have:

  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Axure, Sketch, Abstract and InVision

  • A deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design

  • Extensive experience using UX design best practices to design solutions

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD) planning and conducting user research, user testing, rapid prototyping and heuristic analysis; ability to address usability and accessibility concerns

  • Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments; experience leading and facilitating design studio workshops

  • Ability to work with various stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet user/business needs and vision; able to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to teams and clients

  • A passion for all things UX and other areas of design and innovation; empathy for user pain points and affinity for finding solutions

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications; passion for collaborating and communicating well with teams and stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval

  • Strong capabilities for receiving feedback and constructive criticism

  • Solid knowledge/continuous research of the most up-to-date information, trends and technologies
