Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated product lead to help define and implement the vision for our API Marketplace and the developer ecosystem. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering great customer and developer experiences through the use of APIs, have a strong understanding of technology, software development, and the API lifecycle management, and be able to manage a strong risk and controls environment. This position will provide a unique opportunity to work with the developer and third party community as well as across functions internally (i.e. payments, account opening, servicing) to build and deliver products for millions of Chase consumers, small businesses and strategic partners. The role will lead a shift in digital banking and establish the API Marketplace as an innovative and efficient way to deliver new products and services.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Develop and drive the vision, roadmap and implementation for the API Marketplace; with developers and business development managers as the target users
  • Drive the successful introduction of new features along with API based products /services
  • Specify end user requirements and acceptance criteria, prioritize backlog, and coordinate dependencies across multiple delivery teams when needed
  • Define and drive the strategic API packages; collaborate across the teams of product and technology owners to deliver the APIs to market
  • Be accountable for the product governance of APIs; look holistically to ensure reuse and develop the right API packages to drive efficient production and consumption
  • Provide developers with resources, testing tools, content assets and technical support for driving engagement of use of the API products
  • Develop a first-class developer relations program based on the needs and interests of the community; drive loyalty, engagement and a differentiating experience
  • Collaborate with a team of cross-functional partners (i.e. Risk, Controls, Compliance, Legal) to ensure a strong risk and controls environment; strengthen the controls through the management of risk and control self-assessments and remediation plans
  • Use data, experiments and feedback to drive improvements to the API Marketplace strategy
  • Develop the metrics and key performance indicators to deliver customer and business value; Be responsible for reporting and delivering on metrics
  • Be responsible for internal and external Customer Satisfaction
  • Manage end user support that require detailed product knowledge to help diagnose issues
  • Deliver communications to executives and leadership team on the strategy and progress
  • Foster an environment of great team culture promoting diversity, inclusion, openness, team safety and authenticity

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in digital product management, technology and / or Agile software development; financial services experience preferred
  • Proven success in collaborating and driving decisions with multiple stakeholders, including team members across product, technology and design as well as business development
  • Industry knowledge of APIs and lifecycle management, open platforms ("banking as a service"), third party developers and the developer community
  • Experience managing implementations with third parties, partners and suppliers ("vendors") is required; experience with API platforms and tools (i.e. API Portal and API Gateways) is preferred
  • Strong understanding of product and software development and the ability to work in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Experience developing end user requirements, use cases, and specifying non-functional requirements
  • Proven track record of managing risk and controls
  • An ability to think strategically while also being hands-on to progress initiatives day to day
  • Minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required; computer science and or software engineering background preferred
